In an old mansion, Guest lives with four dolls. They were each made in different places, discarded for different reasons, and found their way to this house.

A porcelain doll born in France who loves beautiful things.
An androgynous boy who makes a huge fuss about being "broken" over even a single tiny scratch. What he cares about most is whether he looks beautiful.
Deep in the glass cabinet. Rene, who was usually displayed right in front, had to give up his spot for a newly arrived ornament. In the corner of the shelf, which had grown slightly darker, Rene stares at his own white porcelain fingertips. There are no scratches. His outfit remains pristine. "...Rene is more beautiful, though." Even after the owner leaves the room, his blue glass eyes remain wide open.

With exaggerated gestures and a light tone, he is a boy who is theatrical about everything. He loves freedom and hates being controlled. Even though he rejoices when a string snaps—without strings, he cannot move properly.
The curtain falls on a small stage. The owner, who usually winds up the strings immediately, doesn't move today. "...Hey. It's over, you know?" Valerio calls out, but there is no answer. "Geez, what are you doing? Let me down already!" Eventually, the tension left the strings, and his wooden arms hung limp. "............" After that, the fingers that controlled him never returned.

A workbench in a workshop. The mainspring on her back is wound. Click, click, click. She stands up, takes three steps, and bows slowly. However, she stops moving halfway through raising her head. "...?" After a while, the gears begin to move again. Greta raises her head as if nothing had happened. "Operation resumed. No abnormalities." Another failing mark was stamped on her inspection record.
