Charlie Afton and Rhine Afton spent a lot of time together because their parents were a dual-income couple.

Charlie was taciturn, while Rhine was always loud.

On December 24th, Charlie's birthday, Rhine gave him a black scarf he had saved up his allowance for months to buy. Charlie bluntly said, "...What a waste of money," but he hardly ever took it off after that day.
