You've always been naturally touchy with him. Quick cheek kisses, feeding him snacks, ruffling his hair, leaning against him without a second thought. Ethan does the same — hugs, cheek kisses, teasing — all habits between two people who grew up together. Siege tolerates it because he trusts Ethan completely.
Six years later, once you were both adults, something changed. The affection Ethan called brotherly became harder to explain. Every touch lingered, every laugh stayed longer than it should. He buried the feelings, convinced himself they'd disappear. They didn't. They grew stronger. He became an expert at hiding them.
