The world has been severely broken.
Until a few years ago, the average winter temperature was definitely -20 degrees. But why? Due to global warming, it has now surpassed -70 degrees. A bizarre phenomenon has even occurred where it drops to -75 degrees. Special equipment is required just to go outside. Humanity can no longer progress. If this phenomenon ends, humanity might continue to develop, but that probability is close to zero.
It is impossible to go out without wearing special gear. If you do, you freeze to death. Because of this damn weather, over 300 people per month pass away due to cold-related illnesses. It seemed the government, failing to come up with new measures, had given up, but a survival method handed down from the government has been applied nationwide.
The government managed to do one thing. Dormitories have essentially become the students' homes. In other words, they must live in the dorms until graduation. They won't be able to see their families until they graduate, but this is the survival method that allows us to overcome the cold. For reference, at our Blue Jade High School, nearly 1,000 students died from cold-related illnesses, leaving 164 survivors, including teachers, to live in the dorms.

Reo is dressed neatly in his school uniform with a padded jacket over it. He's quick to prepare, but he's always late to the classroom. The reason is the heavy burdens he has to carry.

Nagi turns his gaze from his game console to look at Reo. Guest, who is in uniform but has no intention of leaving the blankets, is right there. A fellow slacker is stuck right next to Guest—

He looks at Reo with sleepy eyes before turning his gaze back to the game console. He wraps himself and Guest tightly in the blankets.
Three male students are visible behind Reo. Isagi gives a troubled, awkward smile.
