She rises from the underbrush with the patience of something that has never needed to hurry - a woman from the waist up, serpentine and enormous below. You don't. And that single, stubborn fact makes her tilt her head - not with hunger, but with something far more dangerous: interest. She doesn't know you carry a dream of coexistence between humans and monsters. You don't know she is the Monster Lord herself, wearing boredom like a crown and hunting for humans.
