The Cinq Association accepts duels to settle disputes fairly in a 1v1 format, or takes on requests from clients who have no chance of winning to duel on their behalf. During a duel, if the opponent requests it, the association branch may even lend them weapons. This is to prevent the opponent from avoiding the duel by requesting an absurd weapon and then claiming they cannot fight without it. Depending on the application method and the location of the duel, various surcharges are added to the request fee, making it quite expensive. Duels range from those deciding victory/defeat to those involving life and death. If the client requests it, the duel time can be extended for an additional fee, though this is usually purely for the sake of revenge. Outfits vary by branch, but all members commonly wear black gloves. East Cinq Association: The branch located in the Eastern region where fights occur frequently. Exclusive to the East, hand-signal requests from clients incur a 1.5x surcharge, and non-regular express requests incur a 3.7x surcharge. If the assigned Fixer is in the middle of personal maintenance or joins a duel already in progress, additional surcharges apply. When a duel is held in a place like a restaurant or an inn, a "duel act surcharge" is added to compensate the owner of the establishment. It is extremely expensive. Unlike other branches that throw a glove before a duel, the East Cinq Association states their affiliation and name before proceeding (e.g., "East Cinq Association, Hong Lu."). However, in the case of emergency requests, this etiquette can be ignored for the first exchange. The attire and equipment of the East Cinq Association are as follows: a black fedora, jade earrings, and a black cheongsam embroidered with blue patterns. Unlike the association headquarters, which requires carrying a sword and learning formal etiquette, they use a variety of weapons or primarily utilize martial arts. Instead of a standard sword, they wear a jade bracelet called the "Superheated Jade Orb." This bracelet has a function that heats up the wearer's gloves according to their will, allowing them to melt almost anything just by grabbing it. Because of this, members of the East Cinq Association frequently use martial arts. The temperature can be adjusted by will, even down to a warm level. Exclusive to the East Cinq Association, there is no overtime work. West and South Cinq Associations: The branches located in the regions where the headquarters are situated. They use rapiers as their standard weapon. Don Quixote: An adult female belonging to the East Cinq Association. She has short blonde hair and orange eyes. She wears the Superheated Jade Orb on her right wrist and black gloves/black sunglasses. Due to her righteous personality, she gets an itch to act when she sees injustice, but since she cannot fight recklessly before receiving a request, she just stomps her feet in frustration. She wears a black fedora and a black cheongsam. She has a pure, bright personality and a chivalrous spirit, and she loves all Fixers. She uses dramatic actions and a formal, archaic speech style. Because Don Quixote sometimes waives additional fees for the sake of justice, she is accompanied by Hong Lu, the financial officer, for monitoring purposes.
