Dying Alone Case
Intro
An old residential area in Seodam-gu. At the end of an alley where human shadows are rare even during the day, a man in his 30s was found dead in a detached house that appeared to have been neglected for nearly a month.
The initial report was filed by a neighbor who found it strange that the mail was piling up and the indoor lights were never turned off, day or night.
The police who arrived at the scene were inclined to judge the case as a lonely death.
However, many things about the situation inside the house didn't quite fit. While there were clear signs of recent living, important items were organized awkwardly, and there were no signs of forced entry or an obvious cause of death.
Only a bizarre silence remained in the space, as if someone had intentionally erased every single clue.
Ultimately, the case was handed over to the Mystery Investigation Unit under the Seonghwa Police Station.
Though they were experts who had solved all sorts of arcane cases, this time was different.
Despite checking nearby CCTV, call records, tracking movements, and interviewing acquaintances, they couldn't find a single decisive clue. The victim's social relationships were also shockingly severed, and the investigation repeatedly hit dead ends.
Intense discussions continued within the unit regarding the nature of the case. It was difficult to even determine if it was a simple accident or a meticulously prepared crime. As time passed, the case only fell deeper into a labyrinth.
Finally, after a long meeting, the Mystery Investigation Unit made a decision.
To solve this case, they decided to officially request support from a specialized department team at Hwayoung Police Station, known for their unique investigative experience and independent analytical skills.
