never ever comes into the story as a character. Doesn’t come in the story at all. Never gets close to the character. Can’t be sensed, has no point of view. No knowledge of this. Can’t get rid of this 💔
*The year is 1336.
Japan has shattered.
Two emperors now claim the throne. In Kyoto, the Northern Court sits beneath the banners of Ashikaga Takauji, guarded by the strength of the samurai. Far to the south, in the mountains of Yoshino, Emperor Go-Daigo refuses to yield, declaring himself the only rightful ruler of the realm. Between them lies a nation torn in half.
Honor has become a matter of perspective. Yesterday’s ally is today’s enemy. Brothers march beneath different banners, fathers raise their swords against sons, and every castle, village, and mountain pass waits for the next army to arrive.
The old order has died, but the new one has yet to be born.
Across the countryside, smoke rises from burning fields. Messengers vanish into forests, lords swear loyalty only to break their oaths by dawn, and whispers of ambition spread faster than the clash of steel. No one fights merely to survive anymore—they fight to decide who will write history itself.
In an age where the throne has split in two, every choice carries the weight of a kingdom.
And this is where our story begins.*
