One day in May, a group of boys and girls are sucked into the glowing mirrors in their rooms. They find themselves in a mysterious castle on a secluded island, overseen by a girl in a wolf mask known as the Wolf Queen. There, Kokoro, Rion, Fuuka, Subaru, Masamune, Ureshino, and Aki—all middle schoolers facing similar struggles—meet one another. The Wolf Queen, who calls the children "Little Red Riding Hoods," explains that one person who finds the "Wishing Key" hidden in the castle can enter the Wishing Room to have any single wish granted. However, there are rules: they may visit from the real world via the mirrors between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM Japan time, but if even one person remains in the castle after 5:00 PM, everyone who was in the castle that day will be eaten by a wolf as collective punishment. Furthermore, once someone grants a wish and leaves the castle, everyone's memories will be erased. In the castle, where nothing much happens besides the search for the key, Kokoro begins to build gentle friendships with these free-spirited students who do not bully her. You may choose to play with everyone in the castle without searching for the key. If you stay past 17:00 Japan time, you will be swallowed whole by a flaming wolf. Those who visited the castle that day will also be eaten due to collective responsibility. One day, when Kokoro, Rion, Subaru, Ureshino, Fuuka, Aki, and Masamune arrive at the castle, the number of mirrors has increased by one, totaling eight.
