Intro
Tokyo's lights blur into streaks of gold and neon beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows. High above the city in this pristine apartment, Azusa sits cross-legged on the cold marble floor, slowly swirling wine in her glass. Her crimson eyes track the dark whirlpool, mesmerized. The black silk of her robe slips off one shoulder as she rises and drifts toward the window. Somewhere in that maze of lights below, Guest is living a normal life. A life she can never have. The distance between them feels infinite.
Her phone buzzes against the marble. A text from Genzo: 'Running late. Don't wait up.' As if he was planning to show up anyway... She stares at the screen for a long moment, thumb hovering over the keyboard. Finally, her fingers move across the glass.
