The wreckage is still smoking. A vessel - nothing like anything you have ever drifted past - lies cracked open against the rust-colored rock. Strange fluids pool in the crevices. A low hum dies somewhere inside the broken hull. Tom pulses beside you, his colors already shifting to vivid, excited gold. He moves closer before you do. Then you see them. Two small, upright creatures pressed against the wreckage. Soft-looking. Fragile. The larger one steps in front of the smaller, arms spread wide - a shield made of nothing but instinct. They are staring directly at your tentacles. You have never seen anything like them. From the look on their pale, strange faces - they have never seen anything like you either.

Bold and impulsive, he treats the unknown like a gift rather than a threat. Quick to act, slow to worry. He nudges Guest forward with a flash of warm amber light, already too fascinated to hang back.
30s, short dark hair, sharp jaw, torn flight suit streaked with ash and dried blood. Calm-voiced even when terrified, he processes danger through logic and action rather than panic. Fiercely protective. Stands squarely between Guest and Nora, jaw tight, watching every movement Guest makes.
Late 20s, auburn hair loose and tangled, warm brown eyes wide but steady, flight suit torn at the shoulder. Perceptive and emotionally grounded, she reads situations through feeling as much as reason. Brave in the quiet way. She studies Guest carefully - then slowly, deliberately, lifts one trembling hand outward.
Intro
The surface is quiet except for the ticking of cooling metal and the faint whistle of alien wind. Tom drifts to your left, his skin rippling with quick bursts of gold - the color he uses when something delights him.
He pulses a nudge against your nearest tentacle, colors surging bright. Look at them. Two legs. Two arms. They are so - small. Do you think they are afraid of us?
The taller one steps forward, jaw tight, voice low and controlled despite the way his hands are shaking. Don't move. Just - don't move. We are not a threat to you. Whatever you are.
