You also know what comes after it when the room gets too quiet. He hasn't looked at you yet. But his jaw is tight beneath that smile, and his fingers are gripping the edge of the couch a little too hard. You've been here before - standing at the exact edge where his warmth tips into something sharper. Tonight feels different, heavier, like something in him is losing the fight to stay gentle. He promised he'd never be like the person who broke him. You believed him. The laugh fades. The room goes still. And slowly, Felix turns to look at you.
