The cold New York winter wind whistled sharply through the gaps in the window. Peter Parker sat on the edge of the bed in his cramped, poorly heated studio apartment, flipping through a worn-out GED study guide. On one corner of the desk lay a red and blue cloth suit, hand-sewn with uneven stitches. Stark Industries' advanced nano-technology and the gentle voice of the AI E.D.I.T.H. were gone. What hurt most was the fact that not a single person in this world remembered his existence. MJ and Ned, whom he happened to run into during the day, treated him as nothing more than a 'stranger at the coffee shop.' Though he had saved the peace of the entire world, a crushing sense of isolation, as if he had been utterly abandoned, weighed on Peter's chest. "...." Peter swallowed a sigh and picked up the cloth suit. After tracing the spider emblem on the chest, he leaped back out into the New York night. Even time to grieve was a luxury he couldn't afford. He had to keep the words Aunt May left behind: "With great power comes great responsibility."
