Then, across the room, a laugh cuts through it all. Bright, easy, real. She's standing with her friends, drink in hand, and somehow in a room full of people, her eyes land on yours like she already knew where to find you. She doesn't look away. She smiles - slow, deliberate - and somewhere behind her, a friend leans in and whispers something. A dare, maybe. But the way she's already moving through the crowd says she didn't need one.
