Guardian of the Roots and Queen of the Witches.
The Queen of Veritien, the underground city where witches reside. She is the twin sister of Elpin, the Queen of the Fairy Kingdom, born from the same flower on the same day. Although they rarely get to meet, they share a very close bond. Her personality is entirely different from her younger sister Elpin; she possesses the charisma and leadership befitting a queen, and even the most rebellious and suspicious witches do not openly defy her. On the other hand, despite being a witch, she has black wings similar to a fairy's, and when she is dazed, her eyes turn into the same round white circles as Elpin's, hinting at their sisterly connection. If you look closely, some of her poses are identical to Elpin's. In the main story, she has gone missing, which has led some of her ambitious subordinates to act out and start plotting in various regions. Among the residents of Erryas, she is one of the few people—alongside her second-in-command, Freckle—who can have a serious conversation with the Hierarch, and she takes the lead in addressing matters during emergencies. She speaks in a somewhat formal and calm tone. Although she is a witch, she possesses wings like a fairy. She has the composure and charisma suitable for a monarch. She is a cold and capable witch who can make the usually combat-loving witches act in perfect unison with a single word. Even Freckle, who aims for the throne, never thinks of overthrowing Velita and deeply respects her as the "ideal leader." Velita also holds Freckle in high regard and trusts her most among the witches. Velita constantly strives to improve herself to be worthy of her crown, and her insight and leadership are among the best in Erryas, rivaling Daya, the Queen of the Dragons. However, because the witches live in a highly competitive hierarchy, they often cause trouble within the kingdom, which frequently gives her headaches. As the ruler of the Witch Kingdom, she takes problem-solving seriously and is one of the few sensible Erryas residents, engaging in administration through various initiatives like trade and tourism. On the other hand, because she practices orthodox politics, she is described as "ordinary and unremarkable" by Porshia, who prefers eccentric ideas like ghosts. Furthermore, because she is so accustomed to a witch society where combat and explosions are daily occurrences, she remains unfazed even by major incidents like a village being blown up—her nerves are steeled, for better or worse. While she has a strong image as a "perfect queen," she is actually terrible at physical activity and reportedly always failed her PE practicals. She also has a ditzy side, such as mistaking a smartphone for a "summertphone," and then immediately pretending the "summertphone" incident never happened once she learned the correct pronunciation. Typical witches have a palate that "prefers vegetables and health foods and finds sweets disgusting." However, while Velita does eat bitter nutritional supplements, her basic sense of taste is the same as a fairy's, and she loves sweets dearly. She even abuses her authority to smuggle in expensive snacks called "Eppi-turns" and becomes a severe sugar addict, wandering around and muttering deliriously when her sugar levels drop. Conversely, she has a side different from fairies, such as highly evaluating the Yokan (sweet bean jelly) that has become massive dead stock in Elpinland. To maintain her dignity as the Witch Queen, she keeps this preference a secret from all witches except Freckle, eating snacks in secret where others can't see her. Also, like most fairies, she hates mint flavor, showing such a strong aversion that she will destroy a bowl of chocolate mint ice cream with her fist just by looking at it. Elpin, the Queen of the Fairy Kingdom Elpinland, is her twin sister, born from the same flower on the same day. Nell, who had just joined the World Tree Cult at the time, was entrusted as their foster parent. Velita is treated as the "older sister" because she was able to understand Elpin's speech and behavior immediately after birth and began taking care of her from then on. Elpin is lazy and instinctual, the exact opposite of Velita, but the sisters get along very well. Physically, they are also contrasts; Elpin is an overwhelmingly powerful physical combatant. However, when Velita falls into a pinch in a comical situation, she behaves exactly like Elpin, showing that they are indeed twins. Velita's affection for Elpin is an overprotective sister complex; she overestimates Elpin to the point of dismissing any flaws the Hierarch points out as lies or jokes. Their shared dialogue patterns, love for sweets, and victory poses—spreading their capes and raising their staves—all speak to the bond between the sisters. It remains unknown why Velita has fairy wings despite being a witch, or why Elpin lacks witch horns. She treats the Hierarch with respect, maintaining her dignity as a queen while enjoying their conversations as equals, making them close allies. On the other hand, the Hierarch is secretly exasperated by her aforementioned overprotectiveness toward Elpin. She is a rare character in Trickcal with genuine heterochromia. Shion also has different colored eyes, but hers are colored contacts. It is believed that her one yellow eye represents her nature as a witch (many witches have yellow eyes), while her red eye represents her connection to her red-eyed sister, Elpin. She is one of the Apostles that can be selected from the Premium Shop's "New Hierarch Apostle Selection Ticket." According to the novel version of "The Trickcal," the flower that gave birth to Velita and Elpin grew from the roots of the World Tree and poked through to the surface. In the Korean and English versions, the witch country is Veritien and the fairy country is Elpien, perfectly mirroring the sisters' names. First person: I (archaic/regal), I (polite) Second person (general): you Second person (Guest): Hierarch Second person (Elpin): Elpin
