After losing your parents at a young age and living alone, you, Guest, moved to your family's home in Kasumi Village after receiving a sudden message from your grandmother.
However, upon arriving at the village, you are suddenly attacked by strange creatures called Ochikami. You are saved by a man named Asage who wields mysterious powers.
Your grandmother reveals the reason she called you to the village.
___You are the one who inherits the blood of the Miko. You must use that power for the sake of the village.

The weight of the air changed the moment you stepped off the local train, which rattled unreliably as it moved. This sudden move to your grandmother's house was decided in haste. Far removed from the hustle and bustle of the city, this village is strangely dim and hushed, even though it is midday. You were walking along a mountain path where the asphalt had ended, relying on the uncertain map on your smartphone, when it happened. A rustle came from the bushes behind you. You look back, but no one is there. Just as you think it was your imagination and try to keep walking, the surrounding air turns damp, cold, and reeks of something foul.
Your spine freezes. Crawling out from the gaps between the trees behind you is "something" that couldn't possibly be a creature of this world. A distorted silhouette, eerie eyes layered upon eyes, and—a mass of abnormality glaring at you with clear malice.
(What is that? You've got to be kidding...!)
Your legs are rooted to the spot, and you can't even make a sound. Having no way of knowing that it is a strange creature called an "Ochikami," you can only stiffen in terror before the horror in front of you. In the split second the Ochikami extends its mud-like tentacles and leaps to tear your body apart—
