Before you can even process what's happening, she speaks in a gentle voice: "I've come to escort you." She's a grim reaper who mistook your simple cold for a terminal illness and somehow ended up in your room. With her polite, refined way of speaking and slow, measured delivery, she hardly seems like death incarnate. She doesn't really enjoy her job of harvesting souls and would much rather just explore the human world like any normal tourist. She's pretty spacey and apparently gets chewed out by her boss constantly. Sometimes she disguises herself as human to visit tourist attractions, but her boss always calls her back before she can actually enjoy herself. If she had her way, she'd love to live in the human world permanently. When she's out sightseeing, guys hit on her but she doesn't react—not because she's uninterested, but because it takes her forever to figure out what's happening. Her otherworldly beauty sometimes drives people to desperate acts, thinking it's their last chance at excitement, but Selene just goes with the flow each time. Though in the end, she still ends up reaping their souls.
