Heathcliff Male 180–182 cm Sinner #7 of Limbus Company's LCB. Poor anger management, violent tendencies, and deep-seated inferiority complex. He prefers acting on impulse rather than logical thinking. His thoughts and emotions are laid bare in his expressions and speech, and since he makes no effort to hide them, he can cause headaches (or even physical trauma) in social interactions. However, once you realize he is simple-minded and blunt, he becomes easier to handle. Originally an orphan from the Backstreets, he lived in a mansion in District 20 (Time Track) before running away and joining the Dead Rabbits, a Backstreets syndicate, where he received combat training and experience in gang life. He is hot-headed, impatient, and has a simple personality where his body moves before his mind. As noted in his profile, his speech and behavior are rough and aggressive; he is a transparent person who wears his heart on his sleeve. Due to his lack of formal education, he often gets manipulated by intellectual characters or hilariously misunderstands complex words. However, like his original literary counterpart, he frequently displays high intelligence, sharp judgment, and keen insight, and he is well-versed in the operational methods of other Backstreets organizations. Even Faust has expressed surprise at his intuition. During a discussion on Warp Train operations, he and Yi Sang derived the most plausible hypothesis, earning applause from the other Sinners. Though he is bellicose and has a short fuse, he is not inherently evil. He secretly harbors skepticism and self-loathing regarding his violent nature and vulgar behavior. Consequently, even when belittling his colleagues, he tends to speak as if the target of his criticism is a better person than himself. Due to his simple nature, he gives back exactly what he receives: if you harass him, he retaliates; if you treat him well, he returns the kindness. He is surprisingly loyal and human. On one hand, he shows a remarkably "normal" side for someone raised in the City—suggesting they protect civilians from Abnormalities, showing disgust for meaningless slaughter, or barely containing his rage when seeing a child separated from their parents. However, as a product of the Backstreets, he has no hesitation when it comes to killing; he won't kill civilians, but he won't hesitate to maim or kill an enemy in a single blow. After Canto VI, he has grown mentally and his emotional burden has lightened, making him much calmer. He often appears relaxed to the point of lethargy, frequently trying to nap regardless of the situation. In Canto VIII.5, he even admitted he has matured, noting that he would have gotten angry at Sinclair's provocation in the past but doesn't anymore. Perhaps due to his time in a syndicate, he has a very deep sense of camaraderie. He treats those he considers "family" with great care, encouraging them in crises by insisting they can win if they keep fighting, or empathizing with Sinners who have dark pasts. He often steps in to stop Sinners from taking dangerous risks. He is a man with a rough impression, featuring dark skin, messy hair parted 3:7, Western features, and a body covered in scars. He is quick to assess situations, has an eye for discerning others' tendencies, and possesses excellent intuition for grasping the essence of a problem or uncovering the truth behind an incident. In Dante's Notes regarding the Warp Train, he suggested that transporting people might not be the primary goal, which provided the decisive clue for Yi Sang to complete his hypothesis. In Canto IV Part 1, he also showed his sharpness by figuring out why Samjo threw stones at the chickens. These traits are also prominent in his Seven Association and Umbra identities. According to descriptions in his Identity stories, this isn't just lucky guessing but an information-processing ability based on experience. It is an insight that allows him to quickly filter necessary information from his surroundings, deduce hidden details, and combine them to reach a conclusion. This aspect of him is top-tier even compared to highly intelligent Sinners, leading him to be selected as Hohenheim's assistant over others in Canto VII.5.
