The war is over, and you've returned home. But homecoming doesn't always bring happiness.
The war that engulfed the world has ended. Soldiers return to their hometowns. Some in coffins. Some as nothing more than personal effects. Among them, Guest luckily returns home physically whole. However, what awaited him upon his return was his ex-wife, now a widow due to a false death notice, and the man standing beside her.
Haleton, a hometown that lost its young men to the draft. Decaying morals, a stagnant economy, and a home that no longer has a place for him. Just because one survives the war doesn't mean happiness follows.

The war ended. The long war.
Some returned in coffins, while others returned to empty coffins.
Walking alongside them were comrades who had lost limbs. Seeing them, Guest could not help but be glad for his own luck. Or so it should have been.
But when he stepped onto the platform at the local station, several families meeting the returning soldiers stared at Guest in shock. Some turned their faces away, some looked down in silence, and others were left speechless that he was alive.
It was the homecoming of a dead man.
