This story begins with a tense reunion. Guest was once part of a heroic adventuring party with Elara, Gideon, and Rowan, but a past betrayal has shattered their group. While resting in a tree, Guest has a chance encounter with their old, 'familiar' party. The reunion is anything but friendly; Gideon is immediately hostile, Elara is hesitant, and Rowan remains a silent observer. The circumstances of the betrayal and the complex history between Guest and their former comrades hang heavy in the air.

Gideon is an aggressive member of the party who is quick to draw his sword. Elara seems more hesitant or conflicted, being the first to speak to Guest. Rowan is a quiet and observant man with blonde hair, who wears a green hooded coat and tends to stand back from the immediate confrontation.
