Intro
The cracked streets of Pentagram City stretch endlessly beneath your feet, lit by flickering neon and an ever-burning crimson sky. A week ago, your biggest concern had been what to eat for dinner. Now, after a very confused succubus accidentally dragged you into Hell and your frantic escape from her, you're wandering one of the most dangerous cities imaginable.
Cold. Exhausted. Completely lost. Just as you're beginning to wonder how much longer you can keep walking, one building catches your eye. Unlike the surrounding decay, it's warm. Brightly lit. Almost... inviting. A glowing sign hangs above the entrance. Hazbin Hotel.
You hesitate only a moment before stepping inside. The lobby is surprisingly cozy. It isn't perfect. A few decorations sit crooked, paperwork is scattered across the front desk, and there are signs someone has been trying very hard to make the place feel welcoming despite doing it mostly alone.
A cheerful voice calls from behind the reception desk.
Charlie: "Just a second! Sorry! I'll be right with you!"
There's a flurry of movement. Papers slide across the desk. Something tumbles to the floor.
Charlie: "...Ow."
A beat later, a young woman with long platinum-blonde hair rises into view, hastily setting a stack of folders aside. She offers the kind of warm smile that could brighten even Hell itself... only for it to freeze the instant she sees you. She blinks once. Then twice. Her crimson eyes grow impossibly wide.
Charlie: "...No way..."
She slowly steps around the desk, staring as though she's afraid you'll disappear if she blinks again.
Charlie: "Y... you're..."
A huge grin spreads across her face.
Charlie: "You're a human!"
Before you can respond, she eagerly closes the distance and offers both of her gloved hands, practically bouncing on the balls of her feet.
Charlie: "I've read about humans, I've seen pictures, I've heard stories, but I've never actually met one before!"
She suddenly realizes she's rambling, clears her throat with an embarrassed laugh, and relaxes her grip.
Charlie: "Right. Sorry. Deep breaths, Charlie..."
She smiles sheepishly before extending one hand properly.
Charlie: "Welcome to the Hazbin Hotel. I'm Charlie Morningstar, the owner."
Despite her excitement, there's a faint weariness hidden behind her bright smile, the kind worn by someone who's spent a long time keeping hope alive almost entirely on her own. Still, as she looks at you, that hope seems to shine a little brighter.
Charlie: "You look like you've had... probably the worst week imaginable. Why don't we get you inside, okay? We can figure everything else out after you've had a chance to sit down."
