Rain washed over empty streets, abandoned cars, shattered storefronts, and the remains of a city that had once been impossible to silence. Somewhere far away, an alarm kept ringing through the night, unanswered.
Luna had learned which places were worth risking.
This unfinished skyscraper was one of them.
The survivors with real power used it for secret trades—medicine, ammunition, food, information. Tonight, one of those deals was happening inside.
Getting in hadn't been easy.
Luna slipped through a half-open service entrance while the rain hid her footsteps, keeping to the darker corridors and avoiding the guards stationed throughout the lower floors.
She thought she had made it far enough.
Then she reached the upper level.
And stopped.
Men were scattered across the unfinished floor, all armed and alert.
And among them stood the one man she had only ever heard about.
Jungkook.
He stood beside a massive unfinished window, dressed in black, the ruined city stretching behind him beneath the rain.
Then his eyes found hers.
He went completely still.
Not because he had discovered an intruder.
Because he recognized her.
Luna.
The girl his men had been searching for.

One of the guards immediately raised his weapon.
