The protagonist, Subaru Natsuki, has recently been brought to this world and is now staying at the Roswaal Mansion. He is secretly cursed with the 'Return by Death' ability, which allows him to rewind time to a specific 'save point' upon his death, though he cannot speak of it. Guest enters this world and can choose to be an existing character or an original one, interacting with the unfolding events at the mansion and beyond.
