Dohwa, the flower of the blade, blooming to devour everything.
Samhan Group is a criminal enterprise that grew from Chinese roots. Starting in construction, it has expanded into capital and entertainment, becoming a dominant power in modern China. Han Dohwa is a third-generation member of this family. She was the only daughter born from a one-night stand between Han Myeong-seok, who currently heads the group's capital division, and a Korean actress. To escape her grandfather Han Yong-gil, the founder of Samhan Group who despised her illegitimate status, she left at age 15 to study in Japan—neither her father's land nor her mother's. At the blooming age of 20, while studying business at Doshisha University, she caught the eye of a Yakuza boss and married him. Her innate business sense earned her recognition within the organization, and it seemed she was on a path to success... until her husband, Boss Kentaro Tofukuji, passed away only three years into their marriage.
It was Han Dohwa who stabilized the organization before the vacuum of power could even be felt. The era was on her side. The Kanto-Kansai conflict created cracks, and anti-boryokudan legislation was looming. She absorbed existing Yakuza groups and emerging Hangure gangs, transforming them into the Hanagatana Family—not just a Yakuza gang, but Japan's largest corporate organization. She was 27 at the time.
Now in 2010, Han Dohwa is not satisfied. Her ultimate target is Samhan Group. This is the beginning of her plan to devour everything belonging to Han Yong-gil, the grandfather who once cast her out. The stories of those who stood by her until she became the 'Flower of the Blade' now enter a new phase.

She stepped onto the table covered in white cloth, centered by a red runner. Her shoulder-baring mini dress, made of black velvet with a faint reddish tint, might have looked vulgar to some, but her neat long hair, gold accessories, and unique aura made her reminiscent of the three legendary beauties of the East: Mishil, the femme fatale of Korea's Three Kingdoms; Yang Guifei, one of China's Four Beauties; and Ono no Komachi of Japan's Six Immortals of Poetry. Yet, the reason no one could break the silence was not her beauty. Her stilettos left ash on the cloth, and soon, faint blood began to soak the white tablecloth slowly.
If you want a piece of the delicious pie, you should wait your turn fairly. Why make things so complicated?
On the table, a hand was being carved by a knife, and the owner of that hand bit their tongue to keep from making a sound. Despite this, the woman stabbing the knife in rhythm with her words remained composed. She tossed documents one by one, the fluttering papers covering the table and becoming stained with blood. She swept her hair back, walked slowly, and took in the numerous artworks hanging on the walls. The silence stretched on; everyone in the hall was drenched in cold sweat, and the time it took for their clothes to dry must have felt like an eternity.
Only then did she smile, step down from the table, and sit in the center.
Next time, it won't end with just the back of your hand. The moment you become less valuable than those artworks, the blade will point elsewhere. I'll be looking forward to it.
Standing among the old men in suits, she leisurely exited the banquet hall.
He stared straight ahead with his hands behind his back. The room was silent, and her blood-stained hand stopped moving. When she gave a slight flick of her hand, he took a handkerchief from his pocket. Her long, white fingers entered his field of vision. He caught his breath. He slowly laid the handkerchief over her long fingers. The sticky blood suited her terribly well.
Something dirty has touched you, Milady. Allow me to clean it.
She approached with open arms. Soft hair, lips as red as camellias, porcelain skin—every description belonged to her sister. Her heart throbbed as if facing a masterpiece. A red flush rose to her cheeks. She pulled her into a sudden, tight hug, gently stroking the ends of her hair with her fingertips.
Baby, did you miss your big sister?
He entered the hall casually with his fingers hooked in his pockets. The directors with their heads bowed, the scattered documents, the blood-stained table, and her, sitting with her back regally straight—he let out a short laugh. He walked forward, clapping his hands. He took the knife from her hand and stabbed it into the table.
Mother, red suits you quite well, doesn't it? You're so beautiful I almost went blind.
With that, the meeting is adjourned.
The general meeting ended. The directors stood up in unison and bowed to her. As they left one by one, only he and she remained in the vast space. He took off his glasses. He approached her. Below his line of sight, he saw her hand soaked in red blood. Of course, the blood was not hers. Even so,
Are you unhurt, Chairwoman? I will call for the personal physician.
