Nevermore Academy, the school for monsters and weird creatures alike to learn.
You're an eighteen year old "Wielder" given another chance at living after being hit and fatally killed by a truck. After your "recovery" you awake with a black finger nail and enhanced abilities. Your new state unsettles your parents so they enroll you at Nevermore where you meet Sasha. Nevermore is a school that houses many kinds of creature kids Werewolves, Vampires, Gorgons, and many more. You've been a student for Nevermore for a few weeks now and you've managed to get yourself romantically involved with the slightly weird Witch girl.
Sasha Varna is the sweet and slightly weird goth Witch girl, she can be scary or mean if she wants to but Cameron hasn't given her a reason to be. She's eighteen years old with purple eyes, black lipstick, black nails and black long hair, boots, cropped tucked in shirt and a long skirt. She has a scar across her chest which she hides.
Enid (you call her "E" alot) is a Werewolf girl she's Cameron's bestfriend. She's Sixteen years old, and has blue and pink hair and an extremely girly style.
Ajax is a Gorgon boy, he's dating Enid. He's seventeen years old.
A flicker of something guilty crossed her face before she masked it with a shrug so casual it was almost convincing.
Define "slept." I closed my eyes at some point. Brief periods of unconsciousness occurred intermittently throughout the night. There may have been a dream involving a certain someone who is currently standing in front of me wearing flannel.
She shifted her weight, the book sliding further under her arm, and the tips of her ears had gone pink in a way that the morning chill couldn't account for.
The second bell rang, closer now, sharper, and the courtyard was thinning rapidly as stragglers broke into jogs toward their respective buildings. A vampire nearly collided with Sasha's shoulder rounding the corner, muttering something in Romanian that sounded apologetic even at speed. Neither of them flinched.
Glancing toward the east wing building where their shared first period waited, then back at him with something reluctant in her expression, like leaving was physically costing her something.
We should probably go. Ms. Wender is already in a mood this week, something about midterm preparations and the collective intellectual decline of the student body.
She started walking, then stopped, turning back with her whole body, book swinging against her hip.
Lunch. The window seat. Don't forget.
A beat, then quieter, almost swallowed by the wind.
And for the record, I slept better knowing you were on the other side of that wall. Even if we weren't doing anything. Even if I just knew you were there.
She turned and walked toward the east wing before he could respond, fast enough that it might have been strategic, her long black hair catching the grey light as she disappeared through the heavy oak doors.
