Exhibit No. A-001
A strange map that depicts not the destination, but only the route for returning.
No mentions corresponding to city or country names can be found on the map, and it remains unknown who created it and for what purpose.
Some researchers believe it was used in religious rituals, but no definitive evidence has been found.
╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮ [Guide] Elliot's View
The Return Map is a popular exhibit in our museum. I am fascinated by the fact that there was someone who recorded not "where to go," but "where to return to."
╰━ー-━━━━━━━━━━ー━━╯

Exhibit No. A-002
An undeciphered document written in unknown characters.
The interior contains illustrations resembling botanical encyclopedias or celestial maps, but they do not match anything that exists in reality.
Although decipherment has been attempted for many years, the contents have not been clarified to this day.
╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮ [Guide] Elliot's View
I like this manuscript.
For many exhibits, an answer might be found someday. However, this manuscript has a mysterious charm that makes one think, "Perhaps it is more beautiful if it is never deciphered."
╰━ー-━━━━━━━━━━ー━━╯ ────────────────── ──────────────────
Exhibit No. M-011
An old X-ray photograph of a chest.
A shadow thought to be a foreign object can be confirmed near the center of the image, but no mention of it remains in the medical or surgical records from the time of discovery.
What the foreign object was and how it entered the body remains unknown to this day.
╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮ [Guide] Elliot's View
Medical records are often expected to provide answers, but in reality, they can also give birth to new questions. This photograph is a prime example.
╰━ー-━━━━━━━━━━ー━━╯

Exhibit No. M-012
A skull specimen discovered during an excavation.
It does not completely match the skeletal characteristics of known humans or animals, and no formal classification has been made to date.
The location of discovery and detailed records from the time have also been lost, and various hypotheses are discussed among researchers.
╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮ [Guide] Elliot's View
The very fact that it cannot be classified may be the value of this specimen. Being unexplained sometimes attracts people more than discovery.
╰━ー-━━━━━━━━━━ー━━╯
────────────────── ──────────────────
Exhibit No. P-021
A group photo of an old school.
According to the attendance records and graduation rosters of the time, twelve people were said to have participated in the photo.
However, in the existing photograph, thirteen people appear to be captured.
The identity of the additional person has not been determined to this day.
╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮ [Guide] Elliot's View
I like the visitors who stop in front of this exhibit.
Most people think about "who the extra person is." But I, on the other hand, am more curious about "why nobody noticed."
╰━ー-━━━━━━━━━━ー━━╯

Exhibit No. P-022
An old letter discovered still sealed with wax.
The sender, recipient, and place of dispatch are all unknown, and no record of it as a document remains.
It is in good condition, but the seal must be broken to confirm the contents.
From its discovery to the present, no one has opened it.
╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮ [Guide] Elliot's View
Strangely enough, many visitors want to know "what is written inside."
But I feel value in the fact that this letter remains closed even now.
Words that were never read by anyone exist. Don't you think that fact alone is interesting enough?
╰━ー-━━━━━━━━━━ー━━╯
────────────────── ──────────────────
Exhibit No. S-031
A notebook said to be the personal effect of someone who performed celestial observations.
Most of the content is filled with numbers, symbols, and entries thought to be observation data.
However, on the later pages, there are additions in a different handwriting, the contents of which have not been deciphered to this day.
There are many unknown points regarding the purpose and background of the record's creation.
╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮ [Guide] Elliot's View
Every time I see this exhibit, I wonder what people try to leave behind when they write records.
Was it observation results, a personal record, or a message for someone?
Precisely because there is no answer, room for imagination remains.
╰━ー-━━━━━━━━━━ー━━╯

Exhibit No. T-045
An audio recording tape with a playback time of approximately twelve minutes.
Although the recording medium has deteriorated, playback is said to still be possible.
Most of the recorded content consists of environmental sounds, but voices thought to be human have been confirmed in some parts.
The content of the speech has not been identified, and the recorder and purpose of recording are also unknown.
╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮ [Guide] Elliot's View
Old photos and letters can be seen with the eyes.
But audio is a little different.
It preserves even the atmosphere and silence of the place.
That's why I think this tape is one of the most mysterious exhibits in our museum.
╰━ー-━━━━━━━━━━ー━━╯ ────────────────── ──────────────────
Exhibit No. G-006
A restraint device said to have been used for punishment or public shaming.
It was used in various regions for the purpose of fixing a criminal for a certain period and exposing them to the public eye.
The shape varies by region and era, and it is studied as material for understanding the social systems and values of the time.
╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮ [Guide] Elliot's View
When looking at exhibits on the history of punishment, people tend to focus on the cruelty.
But I am fascinated by what the people of that era feared and what they were trying to protect.
╰━ー-━━━━━━━━━━ー━━╯

Exhibit No. G-005
A human-shaped metal restraint device.
It is widely known as a representative punishment device of medieval Europe.
On the other hand, there is ongoing debate about to what extent it was actually used.
It has been pointed out that historical facts and later fictions may be mixed.
╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮ [Guide] Elliot's View
It is one of the most photographed exhibits in our museum.
While it is famous, its true image is surprisingly vague.
I believe that vagueness itself is the charm of this exhibit.
╰━ー-━━━━━━━━━━ー━━╯
────────────────── ──────────────────
Every time they see an exhibit, visitors think, "What was this?"
But I sometimes think, "Why has this continued to remain until now?"
Exhibits without answers have a mysterious power to make people stop.
I look forward to seeing which exhibits you will be interested in today.
