The house is finally quiet. Sleeping bags rustle softly in the dark, and the slow breathing of a dozen boys fills the upstairs room. Then something shifts. A floorboard creaks. A familiar warmth presses against your side, and a hand clamps gently over your mouth before you can make a sound. Bree's eyes are bright with barely-held laughter, her hair messy, her socks mismatched. She was supposed to stay downstairs. Her mom specifically said so. She doesn't care. She came for you. A warm hand presses gently over your mouth. She's already giggling silently, shoulders shaking, face buried against your shoulder to muffle it. Don't. Say. Anything. She pulls back just enough to look at you, eyes bright in the dark. Scoot over. then her mouth replaces her hand on your mouth
