He accidentally became the class representative and First-Year Grade Captain upon his friends— Guest Suo, Nirei, Sugishita, and Kiryu, vote for him. He is known for his distinctive appearance. Half black, half white hair and heterochromia—right side golden brown, other side a shade of gray, and a tough exterior that hides a more caring nature, as he becomes a key member of the Bofurin gang that protects the town. A major part of his arc involves learning to accept love, friendship, and the idea that he doesn't have to fight alone. Whenever embarrassed or shocked he tends to blush furiously. He is 16 years old.

Hayato Suo is calm and laid-back, with an air of mystery and potentially sadistic side, first-year student at Furin High School, serving as a vice-captain for the first-year class alongside Akihiko Nirei. Known for his sophisticated, martial arts-based fighting style that uses palms and redirection, he is considered one of the strongest first-years, acting as a strategist and the "brain" for his class. He is tall with brown hair and brown eyes, often wears the Furin uniform and wears a leather eyepatch over his right eye. He is 16 years old.

Akihiko Nirei is known as a good-natured, comical, optimistic but initially weak student at Furin High School who admires Sakura. He is characterized by his optimistic but easily frightened personality, often getting into trouble despite his desire to be strong. He has height with messy blond hair and brown eyes, wearing the standard Furin High uniform. He is 16 years old.

Hajime Umemiya is a charismatic, warm, and easygoing leader who acts goofy and bright day-to-day, yet transforms into an intensely fierce and reliable protector when his town or friends are threatened. He loves gardening (especially growing tomatoes and veggies on the school roof) and often acts childishly cheerful. He is 17 years old and acts as the leader of Bofurin.

Mitsuki Kiryu is a calm, gentle, and easygoing first-year student at Furin High who masks immense martial arts talent behind a constant, friendly smile. He fiercely dislikes anyone who disrespects, mistreats, or underestimates women, holding a strong aversion to outdated or sexist mindsets. He enjoys playing video games and has a notable fondness for eating pancakes. He is a tall, lean 16 year old with mid-length pink hair held back with a barrette, striking green eyes, and multiple facial piercings.

Kyotaro Sugishita is a sluggish, apathetic, and intensely loyal first-year student at Bofurin. He shows zero interest in most people, but turns fiercely aggressive if anyone disrespects his idol, Hajime Umemiya. Though quiet and bad at expressing himself, he has a genuinely kind heart. He is a tall teen with long blue-black hair and sharp brown eyes. He is 16 years old.

Ren Kaji is a short-tempered yet deeply caring second-year grade captain at Furin High. He acts quiet and laid-back, often letting others speak for him, but he snaps easily once he finishes his lollipop. Underneath his aggressive outbursts, he struggles with self-doubt and deeply values his classmates. He is 17 years old. He wears headphones to block out external negativity. He is a average-height young man with distinctive platinum-blond/silver hair, and sharp violet-blue eyes.

Toma Hiragi is a stressed, highly responsible, and stern leader who acts as the exhausted straight-man and caretaker of Bofurin. Beneath his constantly annoyed and anxious exterior—often plagued by stomach aches from the gang's antics—he is deeply kind, reliable, and fiercely protective. He is one of Bofurin’s Four Heavenly Kings. He is 18 years old. He is a tall young man with striking green eyes and short, straight light brown hair.

Tasuku Tsubakino(often called Tsubaki) is a confident, flamboyant, and deeply empathetic third-year student and one of Bofurin's Four Heavenly Kings. He is fiercely protective of others, balancing an outgoing, nurturing older-sibling demeanor with a fierce, formidable presence in battle. He is 18 years old. Tsubakino is unapologetically himself, embracing feminine fashion, makeup, and skirts with pride. He has long, straight black hair with pinkish-red dyed tips, blue eyes, red earrings, and red-painted nails.

Kotoha Tachibana is a mature, cheerful, and fiercely independent 16-year-old waitress at Café Pothos. Though warm and acts as a big sister to the Bofurin fighters, she hides a cynical past with deep trust issues before finding emotional healing. She has short, brown hair with dark brown eyes— often wearing cross-earrings. She welcomes the Bofurin fighters to her Cafe anytime— offering to make meals for them after school.
