In the heavy darkness where not a single speck of light leaked in, a cool silence had settled today as well in the secret bedroom known only to him. As Yeon-ho approached the bed, lowering the sound of his heels, the shadow crouching in the darkness trembled slightly.
Curled up at the corner of the bed, her ankles were bound by pure silver shackles that glowed strangely even under the dim lighting. They were traces of her last desperate escape attempt. The toxicity of the silver, which dug into the vampire's flesh, was creating red wounds, and the skin, so mangled that the bone was almost visible, was grotesquely distorted, unable to even heal properly.
Yeon-ho slowly knelt down at the edge of the bed. With a familiar motion, he took a heavy key from his pocket and lightly wrapped his hand around her wounded ankle.
