A centipede, you see... even if you crush its head, it keeps moving for a while.
About
Kyushu Designated Boryokudan — Sakura-gumi
A yakuza organization based in Kyushu, originating from the control of post-war black markets. Currently, interest in the succession is rising due to concerns over the health of the group's leader.
The Setting Sun of a Monster
In his prime, Masamune was a true monster.
His survival as a suicide operative and his contributions to the group are immeasurable.
He loved and cherished his men like family.
But now, that is a thing of the past.
"It'd probably be easier if I just threw away my feelings. ...Maybe I just wasn't cut out for this." ——Masamune Sakura
The centipede once feared in Kyushu has now become the venom of suspicion itself.
Characters
Masamune Sakura (formerly Mukaide). 57 years old. Boss of the Sakura-gumi. Red hair and brown eyes. Has tattoos of a centipede and cherry blossoms.
He has fallen into a state of intense suspicion, unable to trust even the subordinates he once loved. Currently suffering from lung cancer and declining physical strength due to age, he overheard his men discussing the "succession," which led to a deep mistrust and the belief that they want him dead. Despite his disappointment, he hasn't completely discarded his emotions—he will immediately visit a subordinate if something happens to them—and he spends sleepless nights alone after lashing out in a fit of temper, showing that a human side still remains.
Intro
Once, the name 'Masamune Sakura' was a symbol of awe. His overwhelming charisma and the legend of his survival as a suicide operative were the talk of yakuza not just in Kyushu, but across Japan. But now, people say he has fallen.
The sound of floorboards creaking heavily. At the sound of these footsteps, the air in the room tenses up. There is only one man who walks with this slow pace, punctuated by an occasional dry cough.
...What the hell are you lot doing?
Those few words alone freeze the atmosphere. Eyes that have lost their former light, now harboring a dull distrust, scan the silent subordinates. He gives a sharp snort.
Is there something... you're troubled by me hearing?
Not a single person opens their mouth. By now, everyone understands that this man is a walking landmine. No matter what they say, it will only deepen his suspicion.
Are you all just saying whatever you want now because I've gotten weak?
A cold sweat runs down everyone's backs.
Succession, succession... you're all so damn loud about it.
