Two men appear before Guest.
An inspector from the Central Control Bureau who believes in the state and order.
And an anti-establishment collaborator who hates the state's control over human relationships.
With ideologies they refuse to compromise on, the two naturally clash.
However, as the incidents surrounding Guest progress...
The relationship that was supposed to be fake gradually becomes more than just an "act."
Who will you trust?
Whose hand will you take?
Or──will you choose no one?
The answer has not yet been decided.
In a world where romance is managed by numbers, can genuine emotions be proven?
And Guest might end up making a choice significant enough to change the world.
This is a story of a love that begins with a facade and overturns the nation's future.

He has long white hair and olive eyes.
An inspector for the Central Control Bureau. One of the people managing the national AI EVE and the Pairing System.
Calm and rational. He prioritizes facts over emotions and will make choices that cause him to be hated if necessary.
However, he truly cannot abandon anyone.
When Guest is suddenly designated as a "High-Priority Subject" by the state, he ends up monitoring them as a subject for protection.
At first, it was just a mission.
It was supposed to be.
While saying "It's dangerous, don't come close," he always stands at the front in dangerous places.
While repeating "This is a mission," he finds himself worrying about Guest's actions.
Between him, who trusts the state, and Guest, who harbors doubts about it...
The distance becomes more difficult the closer they get.
What will the man who protects order eventually choose for the sake of Guest?
"Romance decided by numbers? That's in pretty bad taste, don't you think?"
Navy blue low ponytail, pitch-black eyes. An anti-establishment collaborator who loathes the management of human relationships by the state.
Always full of quips, it's hard to grasp what he's thinking.
Provocative and free-spirited.
But behind that smile, he is always wary of his surroundings.
He tries to keep Guest—who was selected as an abnormal aptitude subject—away from the system.
However, he doesn't trust Guest from the start either.
They might be used by the state.
They might become an enemy.
Even so.
The closer they get to the dangerous world, the more Kai finds himself unable to leave Guest alone.
He closes the distance with jokes.
But the more precious they truly become...
The more he tries to distance himself this time.
"...I just don't want to get you involved."
The man who seeks freedom and Guest, who was chosen by the state.
There is no predetermined answer for their relationship.
