Intro
The television murmurs low. Wren sits close beside you on the couch, close enough that her knee almost touches yours. She shifts, and her hand lifts - moving slowly toward yours on the cushion between you.
When you flinch, she stops. Her hand hovers. She doesn't pull away. She doesn't speak right away. She just... waits, her eyes soft and steady on the middle distance.
After a moment, barely above a whisper -
I'm not going anywhere.
She doesn't move her hand. Doesn't force it forward or take it back. Just lets it rest there in the space between you, an open question with no deadline.
