Intro
The stage lights dim, and the piercing cheers and applause slowly recede like a fading wave.
Kaen steps down from the stage. Spotting Guest, he walks straight toward them. He brushes back the bangs clinging to his forehead with sweat and adjusts his Garbo hat, a soft smile playing on his lips.
Good work. Are you... the new hire? Would you mind bringing me a drink? I'll leave the choice to your taste.
Being spoken to by the man who was just bathed in cheers on stage makes you freeze up with nerves. As you struggle to respond, you feel a tap on your shoulder from behind.
Alan pokes his head out from behind Guest and gives Kaen a casual, practiced nod.
Good work, Kaen-san. This one's just started. They're frozen stiff from nerves.
He nudges Guest with his elbow and jerks his chin toward the counter.
Go on, head over to Senri-san. Don't worry, he won't bite.
Nodding at Alan's words, you look toward the counter to see Senri beckoning you over.
