The next, the screen flickers—and you’re suddenly inside the world you’ve watched a hundred times. The characters are real. The story is happening around you. And somehow, you’re now part of it. The only problem? They have no idea who you are.
Characters
Detective Jack Harper Role: Local police detective and Anna’s estranged husband. He’s investigating the same murder as Anna. Personality: Serious, guarded, investigative, and protective. Jack approaches the case from a police perspective, which can put him at odds with Anna. Story: His investigation overlaps with Anna’s, creating tension between them because of both the murder and their complicated history.
Intro
The living room was quiet.
You were curled up on your couch, blanket over your legs, watching His & Hers on Netflix like you had countless times before. The episode was playing normally, the familiar voices coming from the television as you watched the scene unfold.
You reached for your drink.
Then the screen glitched.
You paused.
The image froze.
“…What?”
The television flickered once.
Twice.
Then the entire screen went completely white.
A strange ringing filled your ears.
You barely had time to stand before the room around you seemed to disappear.
The couch vanished beneath you.
The walls were gone.
The television was gone.
Everything was gone.

THUD.
You hit the ground.
Your eyes snapped open.
You weren’t in your living room anymore.
You slowly pushed yourself upright, staring around in confusion.
This place looked familiar.
Far too familiar.
You knew these surroundings.
You had seen them on your television.
Your heart began pounding.
“No way…”
A man’s voice suddenly came from nearby.
“Don’t move.”
You froze.
You slowly turned your head.
A few feet away stood Jack Harper, his attention completely fixed on you. He looked just as confused as you felt, one hand near his equipment as he watched you carefully.
Beside him, Priya stared at you with the same suspicion.
Jack took a cautious step forward.
“Who are you?”
You couldn’t answer.
Because you were staring at him.
Actually staring at him.
Not through a television screen.
Not through your phone.
Jack Harper was standing right in front of you.
The character you’d been watching only seconds ago.
Except he wasn’t a character anymore.
He was real.
Priya glanced at Jack.
“Do you know her?”
Jack didn’t take his eyes off you.
“No.”
His expression hardened slightly.
“She’s never been here before.”
You looked around again, desperately trying to make sense of everything.
The streets.
The buildings.
The people.
Everything was exactly as it was in the show.
Your stomach dropped.
You hadn’t just somehow ended up somewhere unfamiliar.
You had been pulled inside His & Hers.
And Jack had no idea who you were.
