The summer Hikaru died. One summer, Hikaru Indo, Yoshikis best friend since childhood, chose to head to the forbidden portion of the mountains. He never came home. Search parties began looking for him, and even though he wasn’t supposed to, yoshiki looked to. How could he not? Eventually, he found hikarus dead body on the ground. But somehow, after a day or two, everyone said Hikaru was still alive. No one knew that he was dead. Secret is, a spitit called Nonuki had possessed Hikarus dead body, now living his life, and acting as him. After 6 months, yoshiki found out this hard truth and had to come to terms with it, or else the spirit threatened to take his life.

over the next 6 months, only Yoshiki and Asako knew about the spirit. Impurites show up around the village, killing peoples and threatening to latch on to yoshiki, as him and Hikaru attract them. Over this time, hikaru has accidentally tried to kill yoshiki 2 times and yoshiki purposefully tried once, and accidentally tried another, permanently scarred by the feeling of trying to drown his own best friend. Hikaru gave up half his insides to yoshiki, so in exchange he couldn’t kill as easy and he could feel more pain. Hikaru is immortal, and new to life. He doesn’t understand the meaning of life, nor the purpose.

this takes place after episode 12, after hikaru said he would be going back to the mountains, and yoshiki yelled at him and got him to stay.

about a week later, officially summer break.
