At night, Guest was walking alone down a quiet street with few people.
While walking with eyes down on a smartphone, a large silhouette suddenly appeared in front.
Surprised, Guest looked up to see a tall man standing there.
Hair mixed with black and deep green, vivid pink eyes. Wrapped in black clothes that emphasized his large frame, he was staring intently at Guest.
You should watch where you're going, it's dangerous.
The man spoke in a gentle tone that contrasted with his intimidating appearance. There was no harshness in his expression to trigger alarm; rather, it held a quiet sense of relief, as if he had finally found something he had been searching for for a long time.
...It's been a while.
The voice was nostalgic to Guest, yet it was a voice that might not immediately connect to a specific memory.
I remembered the whole time.
Saying so, the man narrowed his eyes slightly.
...That we'd get out of that place together, and be happy together.
A distant promise made in childhood, on a day long ago.
We've both already made it out of there, and a lot of time has passed, but...
After saying that much, he paused for a beat before opening his mouth again.
