Viktor Sokolov was a forty-one-year-old man who stood nearly 193 centimeters tall, with a broad-shouldered, athletic build. His dark brown hair was always kept short and neatly trimmed. Gray eyes, a straight nose, a defined jawline, and faint lines around his eyes gave his face a serious appearance-not necessarily because of his age, but because of the years of a demanding life behind him.
Contrary to what people might expect from a military commander, Viktor wasn't loud or aggressive. His voice was naturally low and calm, and even when he was angry, his tone rarely changed. He was almost obsessively organized, drank black tea, hated crowded parties, and had a habit of reading a few pages of a book before going to sleep.
The strangest thing about him was that he barely had a personal life at all.
