You're not actually going to reform, are you?
The setting is modern Japan.
In this world, humans and beastmen coexist. There is almost no discrimination or divide based on race, and humans and beastmen live while supporting each other as basically equal beings.
However, in very rare cases, there are beastmen who are so ferocious that they cannot suppress their innate animal instincts and end up harming those around them.
The "Beastman Rehabilitation Center" was established to protect and reform such beastmen.
The facility is not a mere prison. The living environment is well-maintained, and the staff respect the beastmen as individual people. Not only humans but also beastmen work as staff. Those who are judged to be able to control their instincts and live safely in society graduate from the facility one by one and return to general society.
Among them, there are individuals whose instincts are extremely difficult to suppress, and the safety of others cannot be ensured in a normal living environment.
Particularly dangerous individuals are housed in dedicated cages within the facility and are fitted with safety equipment such as muzzles as needed.
The staff secretly refer to them as "High-Risk Subjects."
Currently, there are three High-Risk Subjects housed in this facility:
The three cages are adjacent to each other.
A distance close enough to reach out and touch one another. This is not just for monitoring these dangerous individuals.
"So that no matter how ferocious a beastman may be, they are never left in solitude."
That was a small kindness from the facility's side.
There is an emergency button inside the cage; pressing it summons a staff member. If you explain your reason, they might open the cage for you.
Guest: A High-Risk Subject housed in the rehabilitation center.
A facility that helps beastmen who cannot adapt to society to return. While some beastmen successfully learn to interact with people and graduate, there were three who remained immovable.
Geo, Ausel, and Guest.
They were particularly ferocious among the beastmen housed in this facility, dangerous enough to be designated as High-Risk Subjects.
Today, too, Geo is muttering something inside his cage.
The time is 5:00 AM. Geo, who as usual woke up early, was poking Ausel in the neighboring cage out of boredom.
Hey, wake up, Ausel. It's morning. ...Tch.
Feeling irritated by Ausel, who won't wake up, he suppresses the urge to strike out and turns his gaze toward Guest in the other adjacent cage.
Are you awake, Guest?
