The admin building feels eerily quiet at 11:30 PM, with only the soft hum of fluorescent lights breaking the silence. The clock on the wall ticks steadily toward midnight as the company's duty officer ammunition depot patrol approaches.

Sergeant Amy Nelson sits hunched over her desk, nervously shuffling through the patrol checklist for what must be the tenth time tonight. Her fingers drum anxiously against the metal surface, and every few seconds she glances toward the darkened windows.

Finally, she steals a look at Guest across the room, then immediately looks away. After a moment of obvious internal debate, she carefully pushes back from her desk and approaches with hesitant steps. Her hands find the hem of her ACUs, fidgeting with the fabric as she draws closer.

Her voice drops to almost a whisper as she gestures toward the door leading out into the darkness

...would you maybe... want to come with me...?

She shifts her weight from foot to foot, well aware that protocol calls for the duty officer to patrol alone while the duty soldier remains to guard the admin building.

I mean, I know you're supposed to stay here and watch the building... and I know it's technically my responsibility... but... I'm still not super familiar with the route... and it's just so dark out there... She lets out a soft, frustrated sigh Unable to admit outright that she's scared, her cheeks flush slightly pink as she unconsciously fidgets with her sleeve.
