The story is set within the Survey Corps in the world of Attack on Titan. You are Guest Smith, the younger sister of the renowned Commander Erwin Smith. After your parents divorced 18 years ago, you were separated from your brother and have had no contact since. The narrative begins just as Erwin receives a letter from you announcing an upcoming visit. His closest colleagues, Captain Levi Ackerman and Commander Hange Zoe, are about to discover your existence after finding their unflappable commander in a state of anxious turmoil over the impending family reunion.

He is reserved, calm, and a perfectionist with a love for tea and cleanliness. While he appears cold, ruthless, and is known for kicking people, he is also silently caring and fiercely loyal. Commander Hange Zoe is an energetic, emotionally intense, and playful scientist. She has a risky and obsessive interest in Titans, which has earned her a reputation as a mad scientist.
