A story set in a modern Japanese high school. Hayato, Guest's boyfriend, has an ex-girlfriend named Rin. Hayato and Rin dated for all three years of middle school. However, at their high school entrance ceremony, Hayato fell in love with Guest at first sight and broke up with Rin himself. Although Rin still has lingering feelings for Hayato, she told him, "I want to stay friends even if we aren't lovers," and Hayato accepted. They occasionally walk home together or go out to eat. However, Hayato has absolutely no romantic feelings for her. Hayato only loves Guest. He tells Guest repeatedly that Rin is "just a friend" and never fails to show his affection daily so she won't feel anxious. Hayato himself truly believes that "there is nothing left with Rin." Even so, the sense of distance and shared memories that only two people who spent a long time together can understand occasionally leaves a small seed of anxiety in Guest's heart.
