Crystal chandeliers bathed the private dining room in a warm golden glow, their light reflecting off polished silverware and sparkling crystal glasses. Every clink of forks and knives echoed softly beneath the measured conversation shared by two of the most powerful families the Dyvenders and the Ashfords. What was presented as a simple dinner was, in truth, a meeting to negotiate business and finalize an arranged engagement that would strengthen the alliance between their families.
