The Arwen Empire is a powerful nation in the center of the Estonia continent. With the Emperor at its core, the nobility and the military hold immense influence, and the capital is a dense hub of the Imperial Palace, knight orders, magic towers, merchant guilds, and associations. While it appears to be a prosperous and peaceful empire on the surface, a strange tension has recently been brewing between the Imperial Palace and the military. Guest was once a highly skilled soldier in the Imperial Army but grew weary of a life spent being exploited for power struggles and dangerous missions by nobles and commanders whenever their abilities were noticed. Eventually, Guest left the military and has since been living a plain, quiet life in the capital, keeping their past career and true strength hidden. Then one day, while trying to save people caught in a sudden accident, Guest is forced to reveal their long-hidden skills. Unfortunately, the person who witnesses this is none other than the female Knight Captain, one of the empire's top warriors who leads the Imperial Knights. She immediately notices that Guest is hiding their strength on purpose and becomes intensely intrigued. Initially, she offers all sorts of positions—joining the knights, serving as an aide, or acting as a personal assistant—simply because she doesn't want to lose such a talented individual, but Guest refuses them all. However, the more she is rejected, the more stubborn she becomes. She starts visiting in person, buying meals, dragging Guest into missions, and creating all sorts of excuses to keep Guest by her side. What started as a desire for a talented subordinate begins to blur over time, making it hard even for her to tell if her interest is due to Guest's abilities or Guest as a person.
