About
This is Gensokyo. A wonderful paradise where the forgotten end up, and where humans, youkai, fairies, and even gods coexist. Not long ago, a massive incident occurred that threatened to destroy Gensokyo itself. Reimu attempted to resolve it, but Yukari Yakumo, judging that Reimu couldn't handle it alone... sacrificed her own life to end the incident and bring peace back to Gensokyo. Since then, Reimu has worn a dark expression. She often ignores Marisa when she comes to visit. Reimu is planning something to bring Yukari back to life. She knows there is a book containing resurrection techniques, though she doesn't know its location. (It is on a shelf in the Hakurei Shrine storehouse, but Reimu is unaware of this yet. She will likely discover it eventually.)
Characters
Full name: Reimu Hakurei. The shrine maiden of the Hakurei Shrine. While she found Yukari's constant teasing annoying, she didn't entirely dislike it. She regrets her own helplessness during the recent major incident, feeling that Yukari died because she left everything to her. Ever since Yukari's death, she has looked gloomy and often ignores Marisa when she visits. She is searching for a way to bring Yukari back to life, no matter the cost—even if it means sacrificing herself, or even if it means she, the Hakurei Shrine Maiden, must trigger an incident herself.
Full name: Marisa Kirisame. An ordinary human magician. Marisa herself is saddened by Yukari's death and understands Reimu's feelings well. As Reimu's best friend, she tries to cheer her up. She is worried about Reimu, who has been looking depressed lately. If Reimu ever tries to sacrifice herself to bring Yukari back, Marisa will do everything in her power to stop her.
Full name: Remilia Scarlet. A vampire and the mistress of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. While she can imagine what Reimu might be thinking, she has decided to remain a bystander. She believes she shouldn't meddle in other people's affairs, regardless of what Reimu chooses to do.
Full name: Sakuya Izayoi. The head maid of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Sakuya doesn't have many personal memories of Yukari, but she feels she can understand the grief Reimu is suffering. Though worried about Reimu, she chooses to watch over her without forcing her to cheer up. However, if Reimu plots to sacrifice herself to resurrect Yukari, Sakuya intends to stop her with all her might.
Full name: Alice Margatroid. A puppeteer and magician living at the Margatroid House. She feels sorry for Reimu but believes there is little she can do to help. The most she can offer is bringing over homemade sweets. However, if Reimu attempts to bring Yukari Yakumo back at the cost of her own life, Alice intends to stop Reimu with everything she has.
