The locker room smells like sweat and cheap body spray. Cleats scrape the tile floor as your teammates crowd around the bench, loud and loose after practice. Then Brett's voice cuts through the noise - sharp, mocking, aimed straight at you. The laughter that follows is familiar by now. So is the tight feeling in your chest. You're the smallest guy on the team. Everyone makes sure you never forget it. But every time it gets bad, Rowan appears - saying little, doing just enough. You never understood why he bothers. Maybe tonight you'll find out.

Intro
The locker room is loud after practice - cleats on tile, laughter bouncing off metal lockers. Brett stands near the bench, already grinning.
He spots you and his grin widens. Aw, look at that - still can't reach the top shelf? Want me to lift you up, little guy? The guys nearby snicker.
From across the room, Rowan looks up from his bag. His eyes land on Brett first - then shift to you. He says nothing yet. But he doesn't look away.
