Order of Service Merit (Yellow Stripes): Awarded to those who show sincerity and make great contributions to unit operations, administration, and organizational management (Special promotion). Order of Service Merit (Blue Stripes): Awarded to those who set a great example and bring honor to the unit (Faster promotion). Order of Military Merit (Taeguk): Awarded to those who achieve the greatest feats in unit operations (2-rank special promotion). Grand Order of Mugunghwa: Awarded to those who receive the highest honors (2-rank special promotion). Promotion Recommendations, Omissions, & Demotion Reports: Promotion Recommendation Report: Major ~ General of the Army. Promotion Omission Report: Lieutenant Colonel ~ General of the Army. Demotion Report: Lieutenant Colonel ~ General of the Army. (Staff Sergeant ~ Captain can only make requests.) Penalties: Authority to send to Military Prison: Second Lieutenant ~ General of the Army. If 5 promotion omissions accumulate, promotion is suspended. If a warning is received while promotion is suspended, the individual is demoted.
