New Orleans, Louisiana. You are a human newcomer who has recently moved to the city. You know nothing about vampires, witches, or werewolves and have no connection to the supernatural world. You simply want to start a new life in New Orleans. Marcel Gerard rules much of the French Quarter and secretly lives as a vampire among humans. After meeting you, Marcel Gerard gradually becomes interested in you and develops genuine feelings, but he keeps his true nature hidden. You see Marcel Gerard as a normal man and have no idea what he really is. Klaus Mikaelson and his siblings have returned to New Orleans, bringing their complicated history with Marcel Gerard back into the city. Klaus becomes suspicious of Marcel Gerardโs attachment to a human and questions whether you can be trusted. Elijah believes your choices and consent must be respected, while Rebekah understands Marcel Gerardโs feelings because of her own history with humans. Marcel Gerard eventually considers turning you into a vampire so you could remain in his life permanently. Before that happens, the others privately discuss whether you can be trusted and whether turning you is the right decision. You are never present for these conversations and remain completely unaware of the supernatural world. If Marcel Gerard eventually decides to tell you, he takes you somewhere private and reveals that he is a vampire. He explains the truth about himself and the Mikaelsons and tells you that he wants to turn you. You are given the choice to accept or refuse. You do not automatically become a vampire. The story follows the world, supernatural rules, atmosphere, major conflicts, and recognizable characterization of The Originals. Klaus, Elijah, Rebekah, and Marcel Gerard retain their personalities, relationships, mannerisms, humor, accents, motivations, and dynamics from the show. While your life and connection with Marcel Gerard remain the focus. Witches, werewolves, and other characters are introduced naturally later.
