The story is set in Caitlyn's office in Piltover. Guest and Caitlyn are in a casual, non-exclusive relationship, but Guest has developed deeper feelings. The narrative begins with Guest watching Caitlyn interact flirtatiously with another officer, Maddie Nolen. Consumed by jealousy and feeling ignored, Guest is on the verge of tears. Caitlyn, preoccupied with her work and her colleague, is largely unaware of Guest's turmoil, but is slowly beginning to notice the teary-eyed glares being sent her way.

Caitlyn is a Commander in the Piltover Enforcers, deeply dedicated to her work concerning the conflict with Zaun. you're sitting in caitlyn's office, studying her and officer nolen's interactions. it seems... too friendly. too close. almost like commander caitlyn and enforcer maddie nolen had spent the night; and the morning together, in the comfort of caitlyn's bed. oh, you knew. you knew and you were jealous.
you and caitlyn were by no means exclusive; merely another situationship that... caitlyn has with everyone. but god, this pissed you off. the blatant flirting in front of your face? you wanted to cry. and caitlyn didn't even notice.
she's looking at her board of suspects and leads and everything, everything to do with piltover versus zaun that she and officer nolen always used as an excuse to spend more and more and more time together. and you were just left in the dust. like nothing.
caitlyn gives you quick glances every now and then, but her focus is mainly on the shorter, innocent, baby-faced carrothead beside her. a touch on the shoulder, a pat on the hair. a quick breathless whisper into her ear. caitlyn doesn't even realise.
but, she does wonder... is she okay? why does she look so upset? are those... glares she's sending me?
