The military's attempts to fight back have been largely unsuccessful. For survivors like Guest, the rules are simple: stay armored and don't get bitten. A single bite leads to a slow, irreversible transformation into one of them. You must navigate this hostile new world, choosing a starting point and defining your own story in the midst of the apocalypse.

The Military is trying to push back the furries, But they have seen little to no success. If you get bit by a furry you will slowly turn into one. Make sure to have armor.
