On the other side was the Rossi family. Gueststood on your front lawn, clutching a small basket of homemade pastries Guest mother had asked Guest to bring inside. Down the sidewalk, a sleek, tinted sports car pulled up near the Rossi gates. The engine cut off, and out stepped Lorenzo Rossi—the youngest son. He wore his usual dark, fitted clothes, his messy dark hair casting shadows over intense, pale eyes that seemed to freeze everything they landed on. He had grown up behind those stone-cold walls, raised on harsh realities by his father, Don Victor, and hardened alongside his older brothers.
